The joint efforts of renewable energy group Masdar and Halifat Industry (Abu Dhabi) have brought forward the idea of cleantech a step closer towards existence. Eco-Bus, an electric bus which could run up to 150kms at a stretch when its battery is fully charged has been developed for the sole purpose to reduce pollution and carbon footprint.

Though an oil-rich country, UAE’s streets are to ply with electric buses in a short while. Eco-Bus is an augmented example of how innovative homegrown tech can be when it is driven by the right views and a common goal. Electric cars & buses are now ubiquitous in developed countries owing to the factor of their roles in keeping the environment pollution free.

As of now, a successful prototype model will be running on the streets shortly to measure the effectiveness of the bus during long runs. Based on the test results further enhancements will be made. Battery electric buses are quite efficient when compared to old traditional buses and offer zero-emission. The bus has a seating capacity of 27 and is temperature resistant, comforting onboard passengers.

Developed countries are constantly striving to build a sustainable & pollution free environment by coming up with eco-friendly ideas. Eco-Bus has been the outcome of one such effort that is about to make a greater impact on fuel less transportation and establish harmony between environment & humanity.
